With six NBA Championship rings over an eight-year span in which he took a two-season hiatus to play professional baseball, Michael Jordan was an absolute lock to gain entry into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Add to the above mentioned feat Finals MVP honors in each of those six title runs, five NBA MVP laurels, 14 NBA All-Star selections, an NBA Defensive Player of the Year accolade and two Slam Dunk Contest titles (among many other plaudits), and Jordan is atop many basketball purist’s lists as the greatest player ever. In celebration of his championship-laden career and induction into the revered Springfield, Massachusetts institution, Gatorade issued this media influencer kit which includes a bold Jordan autograph. The standard-size cooler is crafted from durable plastic and features a hinged lid, two handles and lightning bolt-themed Gatorade logo. The two-tiered contents include two transparent dividers and six symmetrically arranged 32-ounce Gatorade bottles (unopened with beverage inside), each of which features a Jordan likeness and text detailing a stage of his unparalleled career. The “Championship Blue” flavored bottle is autographed by Jordan in silver-colored marker. The bold scripting projects (“9”) potency and comes with a full photo LOA from JSA. Black ribbons facilitate the removal of the contents. Also included is a Gatorade towel and a Sony E-Reader (compete with leather case and instruction booklet) with a message from Jordan. Finally, attached to the right-side handle is a translucent keychain holder with a limited edition identifier of #12 of 23. The entire item and its contents are MINT and come with the original mailing box. Whether it was the shoes, the six rings or the gravity-defying dunks, we all wanted to “be like Mike” and this is a telling tribute to the greatest baller of all time!
