Extraordinary 1911 Jones, Keyser & Arras #349 Frank Chance cabinet. Graded Authentic by SGC. Little is known of the manufacturer or manner of distribution of these pieces. A 3-3/8 x 5-1/2” sepia photo depicts the “baseball’s sad lexicon” alum on a gray mount with black identification text and picture bordering. With overall dimensions of 4-7/8 x 7-1/4,” this Class of 1946 Hall of Famer is depicted in full Cubs attire in a glorious period ballpark setting. With such rare pre-war material, condition factors seldom matter but warrant mentioning. Four pin holes are placed on each corner of the mount and the upper left corner has eroded with time. The moderately soiled blank back is absent of any paper loss/residue or writing and the producer’s name and street address is confirmed. Most importantly, with deference to minor age-induced foxing, the acclaimed subject is “picture perfect” and immediately recognizable.
