Having long-since showed his mettle with the game-winning shot as a sophomore at North Carolina, Michael Jordan established a championship precedent with that clutch 1983 NCAA title game shot. He further proved his hoops supremacy with six NBA Finals MVP honors in as many appearances. For the Coup De Grace against the upstart Utah Jazz in the 1998 finals, Jordan stole the ball in the waning seconds of Game 6, dribbled the length of the court and hit a 22-foot jumper with 5.2 seconds left to give the Bulls their sixth title in eight years and cement his legacy as the greatest player on all time. This impressive display is a celebratory shrine of Jordan and that heroic June afternoon at the Delta Center. Measuring 31 x 58-3/4”, the majestic shadowbox display showcases a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls road jersey on a wooden hanger. Displayed to show the back, the red mesh pullover garment features “JORDAN” and “23” sewn in black-on-white twill with a logo patch (near the bottom) with gold-colored embroidery that reads “Michael’s Final Floor.” On the angled portion of the “2,” Jordan has signed in silver-colored marker (“8-9” strength). Just below the jersey, a 6-1/2 x 4” section of the Delta Center hardwood was part of the actual floor that day (June 14) in Salt Lake City. The limited edition (83/230) display celebrates Jordan’s magnificent career and what was then believed to be his last game (he would announce his second of three “retirements” in January, 1999). Of note is that of the limited edition population of 830, this features one of only 20 floor pieces with painted portions of the Delta Center floor. Accompanying is a cert card/hologram from UDA. Note: due to the size/weight of this item, shipping costs may be substantial and pickup at our Silver Spring, MD location is strongly recommended.
