The first-edition copy of FDR's 1933 tome Looking Forward is inscribed on the first flyleaf, "For Henry R. Sedgwick with the affectionate regards of his old classmate / Franklin D Roosevelt / The White House / 1942." In a nice personal touch, Sedgwick attached a related White House mailing envelope to the opposite side of the page. (Sedgwick's book plate appears on the inside front cover.) Condition is GD overall with FDR's WWII-era script rating "8-9" strength. Full LOA from JSA.
The 1/6/58 TLS from Eleanor is particularly interesting because of its content regarding "the plight of the Arab refugees and the necessity for reaching a peaceful solution." On 6x7 personal stationery for "Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt," it rates about EX with a fountain-pen "8" signature. Full LOA from JSA.
