Here are two interesting display pieces that must have been considered ideal accessories for young students heading off to school! These sturdy pencil boxes are constructed of thick cardboard, and each item features two classic "Ripley's 'Believe it or Not'" drawings: one on the lid, and another on the bottom. The boxes contain inner slots that held pencils and other small supplies (the larger of the two boxes is also equipped with a second, removable compartment), and each box closes securely with a metal snap on its lid's edge. A matching red, college-pennant pattern decorates the interior of the containers. Outer dimensions, when closed, are 8-1/4" x 3-1/2" x 5/8" and 8-3/4" x 5-1/4" x 1-1/8". Condition is about VG with standard wear, edge faults and occasional splits at the lid and corner joints. The printed Ripley's designs, however, remain bold and fully legible.
