Teammates on five straight American League champion rosters and on two World Series winners, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris are perhaps better remembered for their 1961 dual assault on the single-season home run record. This display showcases familiar likenesses and bold autographs of both Bronx sluggers. Framed to approximate dimensions of 43-1/2 x 29-1/2”, the piece features a 16x20” black-and-white photo of the pair in a pose at Yankee Stadium. To the left are (2) photos of Maris (including a shot of his 61st home run swing) and to the right are (2) photos of Mantle (including a likeness of his 49th round-tripper). The lower left Maris photo is signed in ballpoint pen (“9” strength), while the lower right Mantle photo is signed in black marker (“9-10” strength) and inscribed “No. 7.” Accompanying are full photo LOAs from PSA/DNA (for Maris autograph) and JSA (for Mantle autograph).
